Position Overview:
Alabama Outdoors is seeking an experienced Product Buyer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality, stylish, and functional products that align with our commitment to enhancing our customers' everyday active lifestyle. You will manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure optimal inventory levels across our stores. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of supporting an active lifestyle with exceptional products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Selection and Procurement: Identify and source products that reflect Alabama Outdoors' brand and meet customer needs. Negotiate buying terms with vendors, including price, margin, and delivery terms.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Inventory Management: Oversee order placement and delivery to ensure optimal inventory levels across all stores. Track purchases and monitor vendor performance.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities. Stay updated on industry trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the merchandising and sales teams to align product offerings with customer preferences and sales strategies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product buying or procurement.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities with a keen eye for market trends.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
